TESTIMONIAL
I have no words to express but my gratitude list will go on and on for this amazing Somerset Children’s Center for their tireless effort in making the impossible POSSIBLE. My son started his speech and OT last August (2022) at this center and has developed an amazing confidence and his language and social skills have improved a lot. All the therapist here are so great that my son is in great hands . He looks forward to coming to this center and meet his therapist every day even while on vacations😀.
I am so glad and thankful for all the miracles that have happened since last August.

We’re ready to safely teach your special needs child during COVID-19
To ensure the safety of your child, we have implemented the following safety protocols:
- Each child gets their own individualized tool box with a hat, markers, stickers, glue sticks, etc.
- The equipment and facilities are wiped down before and after each use
- Purell dispensers are available readily
- Teletherapy is still available.
We look forward to teaching your special needs child in our space.
Occupational Therapy for Special Needs Children
Occupational therapy is based on the engagement in normal activities of day-to-day life to enable participation in these activities despite limitations or impairments in mental or physical functions. Examples of these activities include self-care, leisure, work, community and domestic activities. Some of the advantages that can be realized from occupational therapy include the enhancement of physical and mental health.
Our occupational therapy helps the child develop and maintain skills necessary to function in their environment. Staff therapists work to improve sensory processing, muscle strength, fine motor, visual motor and cognitive skills to enhance motor planning, attention to tasks, socialization, play skills and activities of daily living.
Speech Therapy
Our licensed speech language pathologists offer private, individual speech therapy sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of your child. Our speech language pathologists can provide therapy to children with speech/language delays, articulation problems, apraxia, oral motor skills and autism spectrum disorders. We believe early intervention is critical to the development of strong communication skills and educational success. We act as a supplement to school-based speech services by providing therapy after school, during school breaks and throughout the summer.
Physical Therapy
The main objectives of physical therapy are to promote body strength, function and mobility, and prevent future physical injury. Physical therapy is a dynamic health profession, which utilizes both scientific and evidence based clinical knowledge. Key benefits include:
Art Therapy
Art Therapy is delivered on an individual basis or with a group of children by a Board-Certified Art Therapist. By assessing each child’s developmental needs, every art experience will afford the opportunity to explore freely your child’s potential within an art medium.

Jen has helped Jacob in so many ways. He has learned so much from her and the confidence we see in Jacob now from the tools she has taught him and us is amazing. The center has been the biggest blessing to our family. We are so thankful for all Jacob has learned and accomplished and how much support we have received. ❤️

TESTIMONIAL
The care that our son, Theo, has received at Somerset Children’s Center has been truly amazing. They treat all the children and their families with such love and compassion. In the 17 years that Theo has been a part of the center, he has grown tremendously in not only his language, fine motor and communication skills , but in his self confidence as well. They’ve personalized Theo’s goals to help him build upon his strengths and overcome his areas of weakness. He’s really thrived being there.
